How does your experience prepare you for the duties of this office?

Please check my voting record and the work I’ve done in my first 2 terms in the Colorado House. Awards to date include Principles of Liberty (A+ rating), American Conservative Union (100%), CUT (Colorado Union of Taxpayers) Champion, and Common Sense in the Courtroom award.

What would you like the voters to know about you?

Constitutional conservative. Elected officials are responsible to the citizens we serve, and must vigorously defend the freedoms and rights we possess under the federal and state constitutions. I believe in personal responsibility, property rights, traditional family values, educational choice, and limited government.

How does your experience prepare you for the duties of this office?

I have worked as a system developer in the aerospace, healthcare, energy, and cyber security industries. This gives me enough background to spot when lobbyists are leaving out important contextual information. It is my hope that I can build consensus by moving debates from the theoretical to the practical.

What would you like the voters to know about you?

I moved to Parker with my family in 2003 after graduating from Colorado School of Mines in 2001. I am an engineer at heart and am more interested in if a solution works than in who thought of it. I am running to Make Politics Boring Again. You don’t have to pay attention to a system when it is working properly.

1.

It depends on the branch of government. Never in the Judiciary. Sometimes in the Executive. Legislators frequently run on it.

2.

Any vendor that provides a covered service is entitled to the standard fee. Government does not get to pick your doctor.

3.

Some people will leech off the system pretending to be churches – but we can’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.

4.

We can’t balance our budget on regressive sin taxes.

5.

I support refusal to attend or participate (live music, etc). I oppose refusal to sell standard goods available to others.

6.

We have no obligation – or budget – to enforce federal statutes. Also, crime increases when people are afraid to report it.
