Candidate Comments
- Question 1: Freedom of religion is a First Amendment right. I sustain the Constitution and its freedoms.
- Question 3: Parents, more than schools and teachers, have the most substantial impact on the education of children. Parents need the freedom to choose.
- Question 4: I understand the pain, frustration, and hopelessness individuals feel who want physician-assisted suicide. Yet, morally I cannot condone the taking of life in this manner.
- Question 5: I need to see the pros and cons on this issue. If administrative boards and commissions are functioning well, less control may be the answer.
- Question 7: I support the Second Amendment and wouldn't support unreasonable restrictions of gun rights. However, if a new type of grenade is invented, I support restriction.
- Question 8: Those prisoners are military prisoners and are extremely dangerous. Their influence on a prison population could be catastrophic.
- Question 9: I understand healthcare law and the current system is dysfunctional at best. Yet, a single-payer system needs funding and I haven't seen a fiscally-responsible plan.
- Question 10: The Preamble of the Constitution secures blessings for our posterity. Our forefathers contemplated the rights of our posterity and so should we.
